Our research found more than one seller channel for Sugar Defender. The affiliate purchase flow we checked identifies ClickBank as the retailer; another seller site we reviewed sells the same packages through a different retailer.
That other seller site states that it does not refund purchases made on sites it has not authorized, without listing which sites those are. Search results for the product name also include look-alike products and websites with similar names. Check which seller and retailer are named at checkout before you buy.

We found no published study of the finished formula. Reviews of three listed ingredients (chromium, Panax ginseng and Gymnema) report modest changes in glycemic markers, mostly in people with type 2 diabetes, and the review of African mango found too few, poorly reported trials to recommend it for weight loss. The label artwork does not disclose how much of each blend ingredient the product contains.

We did not find a published clinical study of the finished Sugar Defender formula in our PubMed search (checked September 27, 2026).
These studies concern single ingredients, not Sugar Defender itself. They do not show what the finished product does.
The label artwork does not disclose individual amounts for the ingredients in its proprietary blend, so we cannot tell whether the doses studied match this product.
Research on Chromium, not on Sugar Defender itself
Finding: Pooled trials reported lower fasting glucose, insulin, HbA1c and HOMA-IR with chromium than with control. Outcome: glycemic markers. Duration and doses varied across trials and are not reported in the abstract.
Limitations: Very high heterogeneity (I² near 100% for fasting glucose). Doses in the pooled trials are not stated in the abstract; NIH ODS notes trials usually use hundreds of mcg, far above the 0.7 mcg per serving on the Sugar Defender label artwork. People with type 2 diabetes only. Says nothing about the finished product.
Research on Panax ginseng, not on Sugar Defender itself
Finding: Ginseng (genus Panax) modestly lowered fasting blood glucose compared with control (about -0.31 mmol/L). No significant effect on fasting insulin, HbA1c or HOMA-IR overall. Outcome: glycemic markers.
Limitations: Most trials lasted under 12 weeks and enrolled people with fairly good glycemic control. Preparations and doses varied; the authors call for larger, longer trials with standardized ginseng. Some authors disclosed ginseng-related funding. The Sugar Defender label artwork does not state its ginseng amount.
Research on Gymnema, not on Sugar Defender itself
Finding: Reported lower fasting and post-meal glucose, HbA1c and blood lipids after Gymnema compared with baseline. Outcome: glycemic markers and lipids.
Limitations: Effects were measured against each group's own baseline, not against a control group, and heterogeneity was very high. People with type 2 diabetes only. The Sugar Defender label artwork does not state its Gymnema amount.
Research on African mango, not on Sugar Defender itself
Finding: All three trials reported weight and waist reductions with African mango over placebo, but the reviewers judged the effect unproven and did not recommend it as a weight-loss aid. Outcome: body weight. Reported adverse events included headache and sleep difficulty.
Limitations: Only three small trials, all with poor methodological reporting. The Sugar Defender label artwork does not state its African mango amount.

We found none. A PubMed search for the product name returned no records on September 27, 2026. Studies exist on some single ingredients, such as chromium, Panax ginseng and Gymnema, mostly in people with type 2 diabetes. The label artwork does not disclose the amounts of the blend ingredients, and it lists chromium at 0.7 mcg, well below the doses those trials used. Those studies do not show what the finished product does.
